Hi guys! The new year has well come and gone! Can we please make February the first month of this year? Because January was almost non-existant am I right? While the month of January caused quite the chaos around the world, I kept things simple around here. I purchased a couple of new items and products in which I really enjoyed during the month of January and that is what I am sharing with you all today! I am especially excited about this post because it is the first of many in which has a corresponding video! [ICYMI – last week I posted A Big Thank You & Welcome! which, aside of being a thank you to all of those who have subscribed and a welcome to those who are new, was also an exciting announcement of my YouTube channel in which will now be part of this blog.] I hope you guys enjoy it, and make sure to leave me your favorites down below in the comments! – Jay
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer: By now I am sure that many of you have heard of the Tarte shape tape concealer. It has killed the concealer game the past couple of months. I picked it up after hearing all the hype surrounding it, and you guys…this concealer is worth the hype and the money! It is a FULL COVERAGE and a tiny little bit goes a long way. Since concealer is my favorite make-up by choice, I do use it on a daily basis and I and while I did love the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer, the shape tape has quickly taken over its’ place. It is perfect for covering dark under-eye areas, it drys very matte, and does not need to be set. If you are on the market for a new concealer I highly recommend you try this one, Tarte recently launched new shades too.
Elf Brow Kit: I’ve noticed that I have a love-hate relationship with brow pencils. I love the ease of them and how they are so precise and easy to draw your eyebrow with, however, they run out too quickly and break so easily! I was constantly running to the store for new ones and it was not working for me. So I looked for an alternative and found the Elf Brow Kit. It comes with a pigmented gel and an setting powder as well as a small double sided brush. I have used this the entire month and haven’t made the slightest dent in it. I like that it covers more ground than a brow pencil making it faster to fill and shape my non-existant brows.
Elf Make-up Remover Wipes: I purchased these wipes the same day I picked up the brow kit. I have always liked using make-up wipes to remove all my face make up before going in with a cleanser, and I have previously tried different brands and have found that many of them leave a sticky feeling on my face, or smell funny. These are nothing like the ones I have tried in the past. They are lightly scented with a clean almost powdery fragrance and are very gentle on my skin. They don’t leave any residue behind and they are a good size, I was able to remove all my make up with one wipe. Also really affordable which is always a plus!
Up & Up Facial Cleansing Buffs: Exfoliating is so extremely important to me, I include it in my everyday routine. I think it is really necessary to remove all dead and dull skin cells that just sit on top of our fresh youthful skin. I was really into the Neutrogena Microdermabrasion System however since I use it daily, the refills were starting to add up. Not only that, but I did not think the cleanser that infused the pads itself was doing anything for me. That is why these were perfect. I have been able to use these facial buffs with ANY cleanser I have. They leave my face really soft and I feel like I am really getting a deep cleanse. AND this bag is $2.o0!
Garnier Fructis Shampoo & Conditioner: Ever since I started highlighting my hair it has become a nightmare to brush once I get out of the shower. I was on the hunt for a shampoo and conditioner that would smooth and straighten my hair to avoid any kinks after showering. This combo is perfect and I had tried it before, but this past month this is the only thing that has helped with my knotted hair. Thanks to this I now can brush my hair in under five minutes! It also smells really good!
Steve Madden Hilda Platform Sneakers: If there is one thing I love, it is anything that makes me taller. I am quite—and by quite I mean extremely—short, that’s why I always look for a bit of heel or height to any shoes I purchase. Finding a pair of shoes that are comfortable, cute, and that bump me up to a solid 5 feet is rather rare. Which is why I knew I wanted these the moment I tried them on. They are comfortable and so cute! Perfect casual comfy shoes!

B&B Stress Relief Candle: Looking for a blissful spa like scent? Look no further, seriously. Saying I am obsessed with anything that contains eucalyptus in it is an understatement. And this candle is a perfect for everyday scent. It is soothing and relaxing. I love it because it is not too heavy, and doesn’t give me headaches like many heavily scented candles tend to.
Hibiscus Tea: My favorite tea of the month! (random right? I know.) I discovered this tea in December after finding out I was anemic. I began to research foods and anything really that was high in iron and this was on of the most frequent items that popped up. The tea itself tastes really good, both hot and cold, and it contains 20.5mg per 80z. However the quality of this brand is not the greatest, the bags are really delicate and have ripped multiple times. I will definitely try a different brand next time.
Tall Length Mirror: During my winter break I dedicated myself to revamping our room, and the one thing I needed ASAP was a huge full length mirror. I was looking to make our room look bigger and I knew a huge mirror would do just that. I found this one at HomeGoods. If any of you are looking for any home decor I absolutely recommend that you look at HomeGoods first! They have so many good pieces and all different styles, and the best part you ask? They have really good prices. I purchased this mirror for sixty bucks!
Sony Alpha a5000 Mirrorless Camera: If you are looking for a camera that won’t break the bank, performs top-notch, captures great quality footage and pictures, then this is the camera you’ve been looking for. The quality of this camera can compare to many DSLR cameras minus the bulky body. It is perfect for vlogging and blog pictures. It has many different settings and features which I am still exploring. It is a great camera and also allows to use different Sony lenses to obtain the effect you’d like.
